I switched to using Google’s Chrome browser exclusively several months ago, but I’ve recently been tempted to go back to Firefox just for the email notifications. I do still like Firefox, but it winds up being incredibly bloated after installing all of the addons, which I mainly install just because they’re there. I probably can do without the vast majority of them, but I’ve come to associate Firefox with having to use all of the addons, and I just rather avoid using it. It slows to a crawl sometimes, when loading, and I just “feel” like it’s using up too many resources. So, since I bought my new PC, I’ve been Chrome-only.

I really like Chrome’s simplistic and practical design. Being part of the Google lineup, you’d think there would be a built-in notifier, but as far as I can tell, there is not. But I just discovered this standalone Gmail notifier…which I could also use with another browser if I ever decide to switch, again…I may try Firefox again since it’s been months and talking about it has me thinking about it. :-)

Anyways, just FYI. :-)
